President Asif Ali Zardari _ A Courage, Too Rare To Find….._ by Saria Benazir
Related to country: Pakistan

Though, history is filled with parables of heroism _ of gallant leaders, but when taking circumstances to the constraints of Pakistan, it’s quite evident that our country did not get sufficient leaders, who believed in the democracy _ in spite of the fact that the country was founded on the root of egalitarianism. Ever since, democracy _ which sounded to a be a replica word in the narrations of the leading class, who hardly had any initiative about what was going within and further more, rioting, swell in corruption & inflation _ that was all, that lead the country to experience Martial Law Governments for decades_ the periods, in which the voice of the commons was stifled & no one had the right to criticize any of the policies of the Government. In such perilous situations, the foundation of Pakistan Peoples Party was the mile stone, that lead to democratic overhaul in Pakistan _ Giving all the country men, equal powers _ equal rights over the resources of the country, equivalent opportunities of edification, health , employment and justice, but as for nation like Pakistan, democracy has always been the forbidden fruit and of course, what could a small group of people do at a time, where they themselves could not get justice _ Though, despite being the rulers, who were the dupes of injustice _ injustice at the hands of the bribed ones and to the world, this day, it’s an open question for what was the fault of Quaid _ e_ Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto _ the founder Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party & the former Prime Minister of Pakistan_ The World’s beloved leader _ A gem, which the world can never get back, even in thousands centuries….???? His mistake just laid in saving Pakistan and promising to grant “BREAD, CLOTHING & SHELTER” to his people and to risk his own life, just for making his state a nuclear power. To this day, where are those courts, who gave his death statement..???? Has their inner self forgiven them..! For they’re such tumid souls, who know neither victory, nor defeat.

Following in the footprints of her father, the Daughter of Destiny Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto made indefatigable exertions to make Pakistan, a land of Bhutto’s dreams and in her political struggle, one cannot ignore the connotation of her husband and the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, who stood besides her in every difficult time and never gave up for the reason, his wife was struggling too hard _ facing trillions hardships, every single day and for the purpose, his father in law had been hanged. History cannot site another such paradigm of a leader , who , apart from possessing every supply of a luxurious life preferred to live a life, which was dedicated to providing rights to the ordinary ones of Pakistan.

Looking into his political struggle, it seems like as if prison was his second home, for the opponents of democracy left no effort _ no opportunity to cause him harm and the arraigns, against him could never be proved in decades. Those were not charges of corruption, they were charges of speaking in the voice of the commons _ to raise the standard of living of the natives of Pakistan and of course, who dreadful can facts further more be _ the person, who’s tongue was cut off, just because he spoke for “ROTI, KAPRA & MAKAAN” for the people of Pakistan _ His taking a single breath had even become hard, just for tying his relation with the member of a family, which had constantly stood against the dictators and finally, gave their blood for their people. So was here and President Zardari did not attest his relationship so fake _ He proved to the dedicated follower of Bhutto –ism _ A legacy, so far filled with abrasions _ deep seas of blood.

A person _ who was suffering from a heart disease and still, at the time, where his wife had to look after him., her ailing mother, a nation in agony and managing the affairs of her party _ Truly, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed was the “DAUGHTER OF DESTINY”, who not only faced, but successfully got out of all these issues with patience _ Facts are always terrible _ It had not been a year, the family was together _ the world saw Benazir, Asif, Bilawal, Aseefa and Bakhtawar together that the land of Pakistan was demanding for the blood of another Bhutto and that too, the flower of Paradise Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who left her world _ a world of her love to fight against oppressors and the eyes , filled with tears, heart, melted to recall moments of December 27, 2007, she was snatched so brutally from us. Such harsh moments and here too, it was the same man of courage, President Zardari, who himself was in need of healing his sores provided everybody else, his own shoulder to cry on and saved Pakistan by calling out “PAKISTAN KHAPPAY” _ WE NEED PAKISTAN.

Today, he stands as the Co – Chairman of the largest party of Pakistan _ Pakistan Peoples Party _ The Representative of the 18 million population of Pakistan! He’s truly the “RIGHTFUL HEIR” of the Bhutto bequest!

MY IDEAL _ LONG LIVE PRESIDENT ZARDARI!
AIK ZARDARI, SAB PAR BHAARI !!!!

Regards,
Saria Benazir.

YOU CAN’T MURDER A LEGACY….. _ Saria Benazir
Related to country: Pakistan

The Bhutto family has occupied a prominent place in the world politics and certainly, when one speaks about democracy in Pakistan, the Pakistan Peoples party is the only party, which from the beginning of its foundation, laid by Quaid e Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto fought against dictatorship and moved with its objective of “Islam is our religion. Democracy is our policy. Socialism is our economy. All power to the people & Martyrdom is our destination”. Resisting against the Martial Law of Ayub Khan and bringing an era of prosperity in Pakistan, regaining thousands of miles, that had been taken by India during the War of 1971 and later, the Bhutto Government, aimed at providing BREAD, CLOTHING & SHELTER to the people of Pakistan, providing education and health facilities to every body & removing unemployment & diseases.Yes, it was Bhutto, who vowed to make Pakistan a nuclear power even if they’d to eat grass.
Later, his daughter Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, continuing with the legacy of her father strived with might and main to make Pakistan a land of her father’s dreams, the Pakistan, for which Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto _ her father had given his life. Benazir, who was too young a woman in politics felt the sorrows of her nation and struggled to bring about democracy & the rule of justice _ Providing equality to all, strengthening a Pakistan, which worked on laws, not the principle of MIGHT IS MAIN. Benazir Bhutto _ the Daughter of Destiny, who aimed to empower women & improve the literacy rate_ who worked tirelessly to remove poverty, unemployment & disease from Pakistan and of course, remove the black mark of terrorism from the name of Pakistan.

The Bhutto family has its roots amongst the people. Any discussion about Pakistan is incomplete without the name “BHUTTO”, which occupies a significant place in history, yes, moreover, Bhutto’s legacy has become a huge tale_ a blood filled legacy, which holds an important place in poetry, in books and in songs and well, it’s also a fact that it was the BHUTTO family, which gave an identity to Pakistan in the West and the immense efforts of Bhuttos for the sake of bringing the world together is also not deniable.

A film on the life of Benazir Bhutto “Bhutto: The Film” was one of sixteen documentaries selected for judging at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The film directed by Duane Baughman includes a number of new interviews and comments from Benazir herself. And references to India appear to be fleeting, but the film suggests she genuinely wanted peace with India. It opens with the infamous David Frost interview that Benazir gave shortly after her return to Pakistan in 2007, segues into the assassination attempt on her life in Karachi and then delves into Pakistan’s conception.

The documentary then showcases Benazir’s life through interviews with her friends and family, a part that shows some new images of Benazir highlighting her evolution from a woman who had been exposed to ideals from the wave of opposition to the Vietnam War to a woman who surprised all her friends by agreeing to an arranged marriage.
The visually dazzling opening flashback sequence ends with a bomb blast announcing the assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December 2007. The number of people interviewed for Bhutto is extensive, even if their soundbytes barely feature any criticism of her. Interviewees include Victoria Schofield, Christina Lamb, Reza Aslan, Tariq Ali, Steve Coll, Arianna Huffington, Shuja Nawaz, current and former ambassadors Husain Haqqani, Akbar Ahmed and Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Peter Galbraith, Mark Siegel, former US Secretary of State Condolezza Rice and former President Pervez Musharraf. The Bhutto family is also interviewed, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Bakhtawar, Asifa and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Sanam and Fatima Bhutto and Benazir’s uncle Ahmad Ispahani.
That image slowly fades over Pakistan's green flag with its crescent moon and five-point star. A history lesson begins to take hold, but never overwhelms. If the goal of a good documentary is to tell the story and motivate thought, questions and discussion, then the makers of Bhutto should rest easy. In this case, history and its retelling has a soul, and the soul of Benazir Bhutto inhabits this film. Feminist, or not, Bhutto’s life was filled with contradictions and that is what makes this presentation so compelling. It is a triumph of skilled editing that a spider’s web of historical facts are interwoven with archival footage, news reports, interviews with contemporaries, both friend and foe — the whole package morphing quickly into live action and cutaway shots that are cinematographically beautiful and breathtaking in composition. Bhutto is a feast for the heart, mind and soul, delivering an education and history lesson in its 115 minute run time.

It appears that if there is a villain in the film, it is Musharraf, who is blamed for her death. At an earlier screening, the director was loudly challenged by Musharraf's son and accused of portraying the general unfairly.

However, Baughman defends himself saying, "I don't believe that I portrayed the general unfairly, I believe history always portrays dictators in a poor light, and the rest is up to the audience to decide whether or not that's true."
This documentary is vexing, dramatic and fascinating; certainly possessing a life beyond the glitter and caché of Sundance.

Saria Benazir.

THE SEA OF SUPPORT_ FOR DEMOCRACY AND THE OTHER NAME OF DEMOCRACY_ BENAZIR BHUTTO
Related to country: Pakistan

“"Jeevay, jeevay, Bhutto jeevay! Live, live, Bhutto live!" the crowds roared
in Punjabi, a sentiment that just three months before would have cost them
rigorous imprisonment and lashes. "Munjhe bhen, thunje bhen, Benazir—My
sister, your sister, Benazir," others called out in Sindhi. There were slogans in
Urdu, in Pashto, in every dialect of every region in Pakistan. "Benazir, ay gi,
Inqilab ly gi—Benazir will come, revolution will come," our supporters had said
before my return. Now they called out loudly, "Benazir ay hai, inqilab ly hai—
Benazir has come, revolution has come." When I waved, the crowds waved.
When I clapped my hands over my head as my father had done, the crowds
clapped back, their upraised arms undulating like ripples on a vast field of wheat.”

The 10th of April, 1986 was a red letter day in the history of Pakistan, so was it in the history of the world_ when it witnessed the gallant leader_ the Daughter of Destiny, who had lost her father and young brother _ both of them, who had laid down their lives, fighting for the rights of their people during the Martial Law of Ayub Khan and this day, the daughter of a martyred father stood on the same soil of Pakistan, aiming to fulfill the dreams of her father and provide “Bread , Clothing and Shelter” to the people of her state_ She returned to provide justice to all_ to hand over the power to her people_ Yes, to give every authority to the commons of her state _ Although, she knew of all possible threats in the way of her ambitions and of course, at this time too, the same Zia ul Haq was ruling Pakistan_ Benazir came and she came with a hope_ a hope of a bright and glorious future_ of remarkable moments_ of continuing the legacy of her father_ of bringing an era of prosperity in her state_ Yes! It was the courage of Benazir and only Benazir Bhutto.

That great moment_ when Benazir stepped on the soil of her belated Pakistan were indeed, unforgettable ones _ The huge sea of support for the woman of century, who was at last, back to her own land, after years of sufferings _ of prison, of exile, of house imprisonment, but one thing remained evident that Benazir Bhutto was never going to quit_ She was never going to stay back from her commitment to bringing democracy_ The rule of the people, for the people and by the people in Pakistan. The support of the crowds was marvelous_ Every eye was waiting to catch a glimpse of her _ every ear, impatient to listen a few words from her and the soil of Pakistan _ waiting desperately to fell the touch of Benazir’s feet on its domain _ that was the day of celebration_ Finally, the people felt a relief after their decade of suffering under the government, based on the lame slogan of Narai Haq, Zia ul Haq…This day, even his supporters forgot that slogan and raised their voice with the patriots, Narai Bhutto, Jeay Bhutto….

“Home. I was home. As I stepped onto Pakistani soil, I paused to feel the
earth under my feet, to breathe the air of which I was a part. I had flown into
Lahore many times. I had spent many happy times here. But it was also the city
where my father had been condemned to death. Now I was coming back to
challenge his murderer, the general who had committed high treason by
overthrowing the Constitution.”

Benazir Bhutto _ who was by this time, the emblem of democracy . a symbol of people’s power and federation _ who by this time had faced all cruelties_ every torture, but stood firm on her manifesto “ Islam is our religion. Democracy is our policy. Socialism is our economy. All power to the people and Martyrdom is our destination”. The world of Pakistan had changed_ the horizon was roofed with the red, green and black flags of Pakistan Peoples Party _ The world was watching the sea of support for democracy _ which could not be failed by the dictator of the time Zia ul Haq, _ who was by the time, too poor _ Yes….. He was too weak to resist the choice and want of the people_ for every heart, every voice cried out BENAZIR, BENAZIR_ BENAZIR_ SARAY SOBO KI ZANJEER_ PHOLO KI MEHAK BENAZIR, and BULBUL KI CHEHAK BENAZIR……

“There are moments in life which are not possible to describe. My return to
Lahore was one of them. The sea of humanity lining the roads, jammed on
balconies and roofs, wedged in trees and on lampposts, walking alongside the
truck, and stretching back across the fields, was more like an ocean. The eight mile
drive from the airport to the Minar-i-Pakistan in Iqbal Park usually takes
fifteen minutes. On the unbelievable day of April 10, 1986, it took us ten hours.
The figure of one million people at the airport grew to two million, then three
million by the time we reached the Minar-i-Pakistan.
Hundreds of colored balloons soared into the sky as the airport gates
opened. Rose petals, not tear gas, filled the air, showering onto the truck until
they rose above my ankles. Garlands of flowers flew through the air. I saw a girl
whose brother had been hanged and threw a garland to her. More garlands were
thrown onto the truck, as were hundreds of handmade dupattas and shawls. I put
one dupatta after another on my head and slung others on my shoulder. When
we passed former political prisoners I recognized in the throng, I threw flowers
and the embroidered cloths to them as well as to the families of those who had
been hanged or tortured, and the young and very old women who lined the route.
The black, green, and red colors of the PPP seemed the only colors in
Lahore that day. PPP banners and flags billowed in the dry, hot breeze until they
formed an almost continuous canopy. People were wearing red, green, and black
vests, dupattas, shalwar khameez, hats. Donkeys and water buffalo had PPP
ribbons braided into their manes and tails. The same colors rimmed photographs
and posters of my father, my mother, my brothers, me.”

Everything had changed _ All foes of democracy had gone into sixes and sevens, after seeing the gigantic crowd of millions of people_ waiting for Benazir and giving a warm welcome to Benazir_ Promising to stay with her_ swearing to support her under all circumstances_ The Pakistan Peoples Party became the unanimous voice of the people of Pakistan_ The opponents of Pakistan Peoples Party too were compelled to call out ZINDA HAI BHUTTO ZINDA HAI, seeing that deep love for Bhutto ism among the hearts of the people.

Long Live Benazir Bhutto.

Regards,
Saria Benazir.

IF YOU WANT TO LIVE LIKE BHUTTO, LEARN TO DIE LIKE HIM
Related to country: Pakistan

Bhutto is no longer the name of an individual_ the name of a family, but it the name of a legacy and the emblem of a campaign, which always raised its voice against dictatorship and injustice_ against poverty and discrimination _ and against disorder and restlessness. The history of Bhutto family started from the Arabs, who conquered Sindh and spread Islam in the Sub Continent and up to this day, the BHUTTO has become the name of that family, which stood firmly against every sort of dictatorship and despite the fact that they themselves had two different paths to go on_ an absolutely luxurious and royal life or the second one_ a painful death…The followers of Bhuttoism always gave preference to the second alternative and thereby, chose a way to make their lives, an example for the coming generations to follow and be proud of.

“TO LIVE ONE DAY LIKE A LION IS BETTER THAN TO LIVE HUNDRED YEARS LIKE A JACKAL”. The founder of Bhuttoism_ the person, who laid the founding stone of a world wide family known as Pakistan Peoples Party spent his entire life, working for the prosperity of his nation_ to provide them “Bread, Clothing & Shelter”. , which despite being the basic needs of life were not available to a large number of Pakistani population. He fought gallantly against the military rule of Ayub Khan and tried all his best to bring about a real democracy in Pakistan and make his nation, one of the developed ones in the world. It was the time, when the people and especially poor ones had not even a single shoulder to cry on. It was only “Bhutto”, who despite facing such difficult conditions did not at all care for the creeps. His vision became a quintessence of power_ people’s power, that only the common people of the state possessed. The lay man too, from his point of view held right on the state in much the same way, as the ruler of the country.

Democracy and bringing democracy, as the result of a struggle is not easy _ not easy to bring about and more precisely, where every one has power greed, where all are hungry before the chair and how can one with completely different thoughts , much sincere ideas, more delicate vision survive amongst such beasts. Democracy and the love of people for their leader after all, defeated dictatorship and yes_ gave it a crushing defeat_ an everlasting and humiliating one…..

Obviously, the 4th of April ,1977 apparently seemed to be the red letter day for the militants, but that is a fact that some people cannot understand_ yes, they are too weak enough to understand universal powers_ A great writer Reinhold Neibuhr’s words suit their aims “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things, I cannot change, courage to change the things, I can and the wisdom to know the difference”.

The death statement, was a statement, that nature regarded as the time of making Bhutto an immortal _ giving him an eternal life……….that life, which is never to finish. Yes, Bhutto was hanged, but not his vision_ he gave up his life and died the death of a martyr, that death_ which not everyone is lucky to get. Even after his death, his assassins feared from the dead “BHUTTO”, for they too believed that despite all, whatever they did, Bhutto is alive, and whatsoever, they may try, they cannot kill Bhutto. Today too, not only the supporters of Bhutto, but his opponents too call out Zinda Hai Bhutto, Zinda Hai…Bhutto is the unanimous voice of the people of Pakistan. Bhutto is the conqueror of hearts and lives in every soul.

LONG LIVE BHUTTOISM….!!!!

“IF I AM ASSASSINATED”.

Truth can never be denied,
Well, nor can you hide,
The sun, behing your fingers,
Nor you do possess the power,
Of changing the fate,
Then give look to the reality,
To the universally accepted phenomenon,
To the voice of heaven,
I will never die,
Even if I am assassinated

Life doth not mean,
Spending it,
Merely in search of sustenance,
Begging others for asylum,
What a thought….???
Aw!! You call it life…………????
Better, if you are buried alive!
Life is to spend it,
In a way,
The world accept you,
It craves for you,
Wants you…….
And your people give you a place,
You become their voice,
They remember you in good letters,
That love, they do give you,
That death’s nothing you….

The same is the reason for why,
Why I’m too confident to say,
I’ll never die,
“even if I am assassinated”.

Using a bullet,
Or hanging me,
Despite taking me,
Beyond the human comprehension,
You can never remove me,
From the minds of the people,
Nor can you stop my movement,
Or kill my vision,
Even if I am assassinated.

You cannot remove me from history,
Or from the voice of democracy,
Or from the voice, which arises for the rights,
Rights of the poor,
Of the redundant,
Of the helpless,
Of the depressed ones…..

I will remain alive in every thought,
In every mind,
In every heart,
Even if I am assassinated.

You cannot hide my struggle,
Or my affiliation with my nation,
Cutting the long story short,
You cannot,
Yes!!!You can never,
Never hide my blood…

EVEN IF I AM ASSASSINATED….!!!

Narai Bhutto, Jeay Bhutto.

Kal Bi Bhutto Zinda Thaa,
Aaj Bi Bhutto Zinda Hai…..

Regards,
Saria Benazir.
